2 People Killed in Shootings Across Chicago Over Weekend: Police

Two people were killed by gunfire across Chicago over the weekend.

According to the Chicago Police Department, 23 people were shot between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

A 37-year-old man was killed at around 11:45 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of West 13th Street. The victim was standing outside of his vehicle in that area when three men approached and fired shots, striking him multiple times. He was rushed to a local hospital where he later died.

A 55-year-old man was fatally shot in the 6700 block of South Ashland Avenue at around 11 a.m. Saturday. Police said an unknown vehicle approached the victim and someone inside began firing shots. The victim died at a local hospital.
