The Chicago Pride Fest, a celebration of LGBTQ+ life & community, is set for June 22-23 in the city’s historic LGBTQ+ neighborhood Northalsted. The festival is being held on Halsted Street from Addison to Grace streeta.

The two-day celebration features over 40 performers, in addition to speakers, dance exhibitions, a youth pride space for teens and more than 150 merchandise and food vendors.

The festival is also working with the Center on Halsted, a community center for the LGBTQ+ community, to add senior programming to this year’s festival, organizers said.

Other performers on the festival lineup include Sapphira Cristál, Kaleena Zanders, Circuit Mom, Alex Lo, Empress Of, Max Rae, Alex Lahey and Aya Ito.

The street festival – celebrating its 23rd anniversary – will take place the weekend before the Chicago Pride Parade. This year, the parade is slated for June 30.

“Each June we come together to celebrate community and uplift each other in the struggle for equality and human rights,” said Northalsted Vice President and Event Chairperson Mark Liberson in a statement. “Despite decades of progress, the need for Pride has not lessened, as prejudice rooted legislation and lethal violence, especially against our transgender and BIPOC community members, are ongoing.”

The Chicago Pride Fest has a $15 suggested donation for entry. The donation helps pay performers, festival workers and supports local nonprofits and community programs, according to festival organizers.
