Once again, poor Dave McKinney, the Sun-Times reporter based in Springfield, had to use Skype to appear on Chicago Tonight. The Skype broadcast results in poor synchronization of voice and video, so that Mr. McKinney's appearance is robot-like and we viewers feel like we are watching a very old, very bad movie. I was so distracted that I could not focus on the news story. Why can't WTTW provide a decent studio location in Springfield so that Mr. McKinney and other Springfield correspondents can communicate in a professional manner? Chicago Tonight's otherwise high-quality show is greatly diminished by this flaw.
