Crops to Come

Many of the vegetables in our garden are done for the season, including radishes, zucchini, edamame, haricot vert, and nearly all of the dwarf sunflowers.

We continue to harvest tomatoes, but each day there is less to harvest as the season winds down. Crops that continue to produce vegetables include the three types of kale, jalapeños, nasturtiums, and Japanese eggplants.

In addition to those vegetables, we are anxious to harvest the beets, rainbow carrots, and Brussels sprouts we planted in June. While it may be a while till we harvest the Brussels sprouts—Jeanne Nolan recommends harvesting them after there has been a light frost—we should be harvesting the carrots and beets relatively soon.
