Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot threw her support behind former Vice President Joe Biden on Friday as the Illinois primary nears. Meanwhile, Sen. Bernie Sanders hopes to rally local support for his presidential bid at a Grant Park rally Saturday.

A sixth person has tested positive for the coronavirus in Illinois, officials announced Friday evening. The patient, a woman in her 50s who works as a special education classroom assistant at Vaughn Occupational High School on the city’s Northwest Side, is hospitalized in stable condition, according to the Chicago Department of Public Health. Chicago Public Schools CEO Janice Jackson said classes at the school are canceled next week, and Lightfoot said the risk to the general public remains low.
