A Halloween Celebration at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Bill T. Jones at Columbia College, and an exhibit about the 1893 World’s Fair at The Field Museum; Chicago Tonight knows what’s going on this weekend.
This week on Chicago Tonight, we got a preview of a new exhibit at The Field Museum, Opening the Vaults: Wonders of the 1893 World’s Fair. The exhibit features the museum’s hidden collections of artifacts from Chicago’s Columbian Exposition of 1893. During a trip to the exhibit, visitors can check out items, such as large taxidermied animals and theatrical masks worn during performances, that helped attract more than 25 million people to the fair 120 years ago. Admission to the exhibit requires a Discovery Pass, which costs $23 for adults and $16 for children. The museum is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and is on display until September 7, 2014.
