American Airlines is pushing back the expected return of its Boeing 737 Max jets into next year.

The airline says it expects to slowly bring the plane back into its schedule starting Jan. 16.

That’s six weeks later than American planned just last month, and the sixth time the airline has pushed back the plane’s return.

Fort Worth-based American says it will drop about 140 flights per day until mid-January because of the grounding.

Illinois’ second-largest privately held bank is going public after spending more than two years trying to find a buyer.

The family owned parent of Heartland Bank and Trust filed for an IPO last month. Proceeds mainly will fund a massive dividend to the Drake family, which founded the bank a century ago and continues to own nearly all its shares. The bank, based in downstate Bloomington, has a substantial presence in Chicagoland, deriving about a third of its deposits from suburban Chicago.

And finally, five of the 50 most influential tall buildings built in the past 50 years are in Chicago. That’s according to a new ranking released Wednesday by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, an international nonprofit headquartered in Chicago.

The global list includes two obvious Chicago choices: the Willis Tower and former John Hancock Center. It also includes the space formerly known as the IBM Plaza as well as 333 West Wacker Drive. The Aqua at Lakeshore East is also name-checked. It’s the only skyscraper built since the turn of the century to make the ranking. The only city with more buildings on the list than Chicago is New York.
