As a new school counselor at Gallistel Language Academy, Rogelio Lopez was charged with a big job: finding a way to get a new playground built for Gallistel’s 600-plus students.
Lopez’s appeal to the Chicago Works Community Challenge wound up winning a $1.5 million grant to create a new, state-of-the-art playground for the East Side school.
Lopez gave “Latino Voices” La Ultima Palabra on what he says is the hardest part of any big job, figuring out where to start.
