Week in Review: Rocky Wirtz’s Legacy; Northwestern Lawsuits Pile Up

Blackhawks chairman Rocky Wirtz — credited for rebuilding the team into three-time champions and criticized for coverup of sex assault by a coach — is dead at 70.

Wirtz served on Northwestern University Board of Trustees, who are under fire for the widespread hazing scandal across athletic teams. Meanwhile, the school’s new football coach fumbles his first address on the hazing in his Big Ten press conference debut. Both the university’s president and athletic director finally break their silence as more hazing suits filed this week — including a former volleyball player who said she required medical treatment after one hazing incident.
