Anthony Prisco, 20, of Oak Forest, is accused of illegally possessing and transferring machine guns and illegally possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon.

According to an indictment and criminal complaints filed in the U.S. District Court in Chicago, Prisco in June sold 25 machine gun conversion devices, a firearm with an obliterated serial number and a 3D printer to an undercover law enforcement officer. Prosecutors allege the printer had been used to print the machine gun conversion devices.

A machine gun conversion device, also known as a “Glock switch” or “auto sear,” allows firearms to fire multiple rounds with a single trigger pull, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Illinois.

At the time of the alleged sale, Prisco was on probation for a state firearm conviction. Federal law bans previously convicted felons from possessing firearms, the release said.

Prisco has been ordered held without bond. His arraignment is set for Monday.

If convicted, Prisco faces up to 10 years in federal prison for each charge.
