Don’t Forget to Set Clocks Back an Hour This Weekend

The hour that was taken from us in March returns this weekend as clocks roll back to standard time at 2 a.m. Sunday.

The time change signals the end of daylight saving time, which has been in effect since March 12 when clocks sprung forward.

We’ll be making up for lost time with the UK and other European countries, which already fell back on Oct. 29.

While sleep experts in general prefer standard time to daylight saving, the major downside to gaining an hour in the fall is the early sunsets that come with the time change.

On Sunday, sunset in Chicago will take place at 4:40 p.m.
