The agency has announced that it is once again partnering with Miller Lite to offer free rides, which will be available across the city on both trains and buses from 10 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday.

“We are always happy to provide free rides for our customers as they celebrate New Year’s Eve with relatives and friends,” CTA President Dorval Carter said in a statement. “We extend our gratitude for Miller Lite as they continue to sponsor the Free Rides program every year so that our customers can have a safe and affordable transit option as they ring in 2024.”

According to the transit agency, customers will not need to tap their Ventra cards or provide any other payment at rail station turnstiles or while boarding buses. There will not be refunds offered if customers do touch their fare card or other form of payment on fare-card readers.

Pace buses will also be offering free rides from 10 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday. Passengers are asked to review Pace’s New Year’s Day holiday schedule before traveling.

The Chicago-based Disparti Law Group is also offering residents in and around the city free Uber rides on New Year’s Eve. Vouchers — which are available at RideFreeNYE.com — are worth up to $20 and must be used between 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 10 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
