I am the mother of fallen Chicago Police Officer Michael Gordon who was killed by an illegal in 2004. Of course that wasn't brought out because of the rights illegals have - it was reported as a DUI driver. He was supposed to have been deported the year before but because of all the bureacracy in this country he was still around. Americans keep dying by the hands of these illegals but no one cares. This person owned 2 or 3 vehicles in the time he was here yet he had no drivers license and was able to obtain license plates. Illinois laws are a joke whether they are for DUI or immigration. The activists for illegals, Preckwinkle or other politicians - I wonder what there response would be if they lost a loved one to an illegal - someone who has entered this country illegally and should have no rights.

This Country has given the illegals all the rights and we Americans are supposed to sit back and take it. My son was a veteran, a police officer and a father, leaving behind three small children. Where were his rights?

A small concilation for our family was when a law was passed in Michael's name. It is now a Class 4 felony if you do not have a valid drivers license, no insurance and are under the influence. Prior to Mike's law it was considered a misdemeanor.

If Americans don't stand up for their rights it will be the illegals ruling us. The politicians in Washington or Illinois or anywhere in this country are not for the people but are out for their own political and monetary gain.

I do not understand why when the INA requests a 2 day hold on arrested illegals it is not granted. Instead they are set free on bond and flee to their country never to appear in a U.S. court to face their charges. I voted for Tony Preckwinkle and thought she was doing a good job, up until now that is. Someone should notify the webster people and tell that the term illegal no longer means what it used to. At least not in Chicago Illinois.

Sheriff Dart and County Board President Preckwinkle have made the right decision. The Court has the responsibility to set an appropriate bond in consideration of the alleged crime and the risk of flight. It is not the job of the Sheriff or County Board President to second guess that decision.

It is outrageous that there is any discussion of this subject at all. As a life-long Illinois resident, I am profoundly disturbed that my hard-earned tax monies are being used to educate, shelter, and provide legal/medical assistance to people who should not be allowed in Our Country to begin with. We Citizens know very well the consequences of not paying our taxes as required: what absurd logic allows illegal "residents" to enjoy the fruits of our labors with no fear of deportation? We need a Federal E-Verify law to make it impossible for anyone here illegally to stay; and we need to truly protect our borders.

I PERSONALLY WANT TO SEE ANYONE WHO VIALTES FEDERAL LAW REGARDING HANDELING IMMAGRATION AT STATE OR COUNTY LEVEL PROSECUTED & WILL FINALNCIALLY SUPPORT THAT PROSECUSSION I AM SICK & TIRED OF ILLINOIS & THE COUNTY VIOLATING IMMIGRATION LAW TO GET VOTES !!

ALL illegals found should be reported to ICE. Our immigration laws MUST be enforced. We cannot have police officers looking the other way as they find the criminals or more crimes are committed because they are set free, especially when they KNOW a person is an illegal. Those cops should resign or be fired, including Tom Dart, as they are intentionally disregarding the law. It is beyond disgusting our Illinois police and politicians pander to the illegals and their Mexican racist advocate and allow them to continue to disregard our laws. That is why IL now has half a million Mexicans destroying the city and state. Once nice neighborhoods are now barrios and slums. Illegals have no respect for our country or its laws and deserve to be held for their crimes. Deport ALL illegals, no exceptions.
