Drawing History: Chicago Tribune Editorial Cartoonist on Slowing Down

For 10 years, Scott Stantis has been commenting on news for the Chicago Tribune in his own unique way by covering politicians, the state's fiscal crisis, the police and more from his libertarian quill.

The editorial cartoonist has racked up a number of awards and earned his way on to the Chicago Tribune’s editorial board. His work is now syndicated in more than 400 newspapers around the world and has appeared in Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report and Nightline. He is also the creator of the "Prickly City," which launched in 2004 and is also syndicated.

Composer and Tony Award-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda picked Stantis over a number of other illustrators to create a 7-minute animated version of the creation of the Federalist Papers for the new “Hamilton: The Exhibition” on Northerly Island.

Stantis joins Phil Ponce to talk about his own news that he's stepping back from the daily grind.
