Jonathan Jackson filed papers to run for Congressman Bobby Rush’s seat.  Illinois’ wealthiest residents are giving big bucks to Richard Irvin’s gubernatorial run as he continues to dodge reporters’ questions.  After he rips the mayor’s violence response, will Arne Duncan run against Mayor Lightfoot?  And, will the Chicago Teacher’s Union support a run by its own Stacey Davis Gates?

Could a possible CPS COVID-19 vaccine mandate be coming?  A high number of students and staff are still out sick as quarantine time shortened.  Chicago Public Schools CEO, Pedro Martinez, says changes to the CPS COVID-19 tracking aren’t misleading.  Meanwhile, the CPS chief medical officer and number two at CPS both resign this week.

And in sports, the Bears hire a new head coach who was a defensive coordinator at the Indianapolis Colts.  The choice was Ryan Poles, the Bears new 36-year-old GM, first major move.  And, Cubs steroids-era slugger Sammy Sosa denied place in Hall of Fame.
