Meet the Local Composer Behind the New Theme Music for ‘Chicago Tonight’

Along with a new set, technology and graphics, this week “Chicago Tonight” also rolled out new theme music.

The person behind the new sound is Chicagoan Aesha “Eesh” Dominguez. She’s a classically trained pianist and vocalist and is one of the few female sound engineers in town.

“One of the things I wanted to convey is trust. ‘Chicago Tonight’ is a long-standing program that I grew up watching that my family used to watch, and I wanted to relay that feeling and knowing that what’s coming behind this music is something you can rely on,” said Dominguez.

The composer says she learned to play the piano in church. For her, composing the new music for the program came naturally based on her knowledge of the brand.
