On this President’s Day, we look back on one of former President Jimmy Carter’s appearances on “Chicago Tonight.” 

Carter has appeared on the show three times over the years. In a 2006 interview with John Callaway, Carter was asked about his memories of Chicago and Illinois. 

The former president recalled a memorable conversation with Mayor Richard J. Daley back in 1976 when Carter was running for president and the mayor was supporting another candidate.
