The four-day party is set for July 18-21 and will include concerts (headliners to be announced), dance performances, new public art and activities for people of all ages, presented by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

“Millennium Park is where we showcase the best of our city’s vibrant arts and culture scene, as well as artistry from around the world,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson in a statement.

After years of delays — and complaints about bloated budgets and blown construction deadlines — Millennium Park opened July 16, 2004, and almost instantly became the city’s “crown jewel.”

Today, the park, which encompasses the Pritzker Pavilion, Crown Fountain, Lurie Garden and Cloud Gate sculpture, aka, the Bean, is one of the top tourist destinations not just in Chicago but the entire Midwest.

In addition to the anniversary celebration, the park will host its regular schedule of summer festivals and events, including movie nights and workouts on the Great Lawn.

Here are dates for Chicago’s biggest summer happenings:

— Chicago Gospel Music Festival, June 1.

— Chicago House Music Festival, June 2.

— Chicago Blues Festival, June 6-9.

— Chicago Jazz Festival, Aug. 29 - Sept. 1.

— Air and Water Show, with the Blue Angels as headliners, Aug. 10-11, taking place a week earlier than normal to accommodate the Democratic National Convention.

— Taste of Chicago, Sept. 6-8.

— Grant Park Music Festival, June 12 - Aug. 17.
