Taking in the city’s expanse via drone, the special explores Chicago’s famous grid system, its industrial legacy, and the natural areas that weave through the dense urban jungle.

“We were thinking about what we could do in this age of the pandemic, and shooting from 400 feet in the air is kind of the ultimate in social distancing,” Baer said. “As it turned out, when I saw more and more of this footage, I realized this is a whole different way to tell stories, and we probably should have done this years ago.”
