Described as a multi-sensory experience, Flyover takes off from Navy Pier and transports as many as 60 people at a time on a flight over the city.

Utilizing footage captured by a drone, flight members swoop through iconic landmarks in seats engineered to feel every dip and dive of the ride, just as if you were on a rollercoaster. The experience also incorporates special effects like wind, mist and scents that are used to enhance the riders’ experiences.

On view of a 65-foot spherical screen, riders can witness the dyeing of the Chicago River, swoop through the Bean, witness an aerial view of the Chicago Air and Water Show, glide through a red carpet experience at the Chicago Theatre to watch Walt Whitman and the Soul Children of Chicago and view a fireworks show at Navy Pier with a vantage point unlike any other.

The fourth of its kind, the Flyover experience can also be found in Las Vegas, Reykjavik and Vancouver. While they may share the common idea of utilizing drones to capture the vibrancy of their city, the Chicago version reflects the city’s resilience.

It’s a concept create by Pursuit, an attractions and hospitality company.

“Chicago’s flying journey will ultimately engage and entertain viewers with a thrilling immersive urban experience that pushes the boundaries of escape.” said Lisa Adams, COO and executive producer of Flyover Attractions, in a statement.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children with discounts offered for military members. It’s located directly across from the Children’s Museum at Navy Pier.
